How the Media Empowered Democrats to Create the TSA Chaos.

A major reason Senate Democrats chose the recent TSA chaos was not just because of their hard-line regressive base ( I refuse to call them progressives), but because they were emboldened by the media. Democrats and the media who spun their talking points which relentlessly chastised ICE, made Democrats feel they had a politically expedient path, and entitled credibility to defund DHS to target ICE. This despite ICE being already fully funded till 2029. Most media outlets may not have repeated verbatim the language Democrats used to vilify and smear ICE or immigration enforcement operations. However, tepid or no challenge at all from the media to certain anti-ICE malicious arguments, not correcting false talking points, adding clarity and context to many misleading statistics and the publicatory omission of certain facts regarding ICE and immigration enforcement compounded the damage. A common repertoire of Democrats in media interviews was that ICE was Nazis, unlawful militia, snatching people of color off the street, rounding up Americans and using misleading videos and scenarios that went viral as truth without enough media scrutiny. 

The saturation of negative ICE coverage drowned out why most normal ICE operations were necessary, lawful and humane both for American citizens and immigrants. Sanctuary city laws and the politicians that support them did not get nowhere near the scrutiny they deserve compared to ICE coverage. With three recent deaths of American citizens contributed to these policies, hopefully that will change. Only the New York Post reported and editorialized that 7000 migrants with criminal records were released back into neighborhoods because NY sanctuary policies refused to honor detainers for them, which further forced more ICE activities. Across the country, many thousands more criminal migrants are released because of city and state sanctuary laws to avoid ICE  detainers with little media coverage. Sen. Chuck Schumer and other Democrats never were challenged by the media about this even when they used misleading scenarios and Tik Tok videos to justify their smears of law enforcement even in Congressional Hearings. Tens of  thousands of children and migrants rescued by ICE from sex and labor trafficking got scant coverage. Neither the significant drop in American deaths from Fentynal overdoses since the Border Security can now concentrate more on border protection rather the surge of migrants during President Biden's border crisis.

A major dereliction in the basic duty of the press was failure to add clarity about how many of the immigrants who were arrested for deportation had some sort of criminal record. According to DHS the number is between 60-70% which only a few publications such as the NY Post and The Washington Examiner reported on. Major media outlets including CBS and NBC spun it as 13-14% while omitting that those numbers reflected migrants classified as 'violent' criminals. However, most classified as ' non-violent 'which made up the 60-70%, committed serious offenses including child trafficking. Also very misleading and rarely clarified, was that many people detained by ICE including American citizens happened because they intervened in law enforcement activities sometimes violently while refusing to show identification. But, this publicatory omission fed the narrative that ICE was ' snatching up people including Americans on the street' which further fomented protests and attacks including over 100 attempts to run over ICE agents. There were no protests when four American citizens were accidentally deported during the Obama administration, and ICE were operating under the same laws as they are now.

Democrats and their anti-ICE vilification may have been emboldened by the press to not fund TSA and DHS. However, it inadvertently exposed something worthy of press coverage going into the midterms. The increasing number of Democrats who outright are saying they want to totally dismantle immigration enforcement, want open border policies to return and more so are willing to prioritize the interests of illegal immigrants including those with criminal records over the interests of American citizens. So much so that it is becoming part of the Democrat brand with their galvanized insistence to protect sanctuary policies. The media has not served the interests of American citizens to challenge Democrats, especially those who chant 'ICE OUT' , why those elected officials should  be out of their jobs instead if they refuse to enforce or abide by  laws they are sworn to uphold while inciting people to break laws. Also what is the point of passing laws if these elected officials can choose not to enforce them while inciting violence to those that do? 

Since most Democrats in the U.S Senate are also lawyers, including Sen. Schumer who are advocating more for the interests of  illegal criminal migrants and the lawless rather than the interests of Americans and American laws. The media should challenge them to get out of their jobs in Congress which they refuse to do, and go back being lawyers for these migrants.

By the media not doing their duty, Democrats were encouraged not to do theirs. TSA went unfunded, repeat migrant criminals who were protected by sanctuary laws from deportation were free to kill and more are still able to do so. A further consequence to all this, Democrats, with these recent actions, their vehement opposition to immigration law enforcement and support of President Biden's open border crisis, have obliterated any real chance of real immigration reform for law abiding immigrants who deserve to come or stay in America. Something which both myself as a legal immigrant and many publications have previously written extensively about.
